Yesterday at work was really slow (all I did between 9am and 2pm was print off a couple labels… seriously), which, on the one hand, was boring, but on the other hand, gave me a chance to really delve into Design*Sponge‘s website and especially to appreciate all of the Before and After features on furniture that has been upcycled or minutely altered to serve an entirely different purpose all together. Since I’ll be moving into my new place sometime this week (!), I’m drawing so much inspiration from these Before and After pieces, thinking of the furniture I already own that can be spruced up with some bright paint and making a mental note for when I go to the Goodwilll later today to keep an eye out for furniture and knick-knacks that have the potential to be amazing, even if they’ll be a work in progress for a while, and not just items that are good the way they are. I would also really like to learn how to re-upholster furniture myself now, after seeing how vomit-worthy furniture can be transformed into beautiful couches and chairs with a little paint and the right fabric. Amazing.
